Welcome to Denia

A major passenger port for the fairly nearby Balearic Islands, Denia is a cheery place that lives for more than just tourism. The old town snuggles up against a small hill mounted by a tumbledown castle and the town's streets buzz with life. The beaches of La Marina, to its northwest, are wide and sandy, while southeastwards the fretted coastline of Les Rotes and beyond offers less-frequented rocky coves. With its excellent selection of hotels and restaurants, and mix of local and tourist life, Denia is perhaps the Costa Blanca's most appealing base.

Recreation and Leisure

For those who seek more than just a lazy beach holiday, Denia and the surrounding area offers countless options such as sailing, windsurfing, diving, fishing and kayaking. And for those who prefer land to sea there are countless hiking and cycling trails all around the area. Perhaps a game of golf, or tennis? Or for the true thrill seeker there is even the option to go hang gliding!

Dénia "Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO"

In 2015 Denia was designated ‘Creative city of gastronomy’ by UNESCO. Spread between the historic old town, the picturesque port, and the rocky coastline of Les Rotes the many restaurants focus on local seafood and produce to best showcase the Mediterranean diet. By blending tradition with quality and focusing on local produce restauranteurs ensure a sustainable development of the region. Denia offers everything between a 3 star Michelin dinner and a budget lunch prepared in a local ‘Tasca’, so there are countless options for foodies of all budgets.

Bars and Nightlife

In recent years, Denia has been catching up with nearby cities of Benidorm, Alicante, and Valencia regarding the club scene. Of course, the sweltering Spanish summer nights would already go into the early morning but with the addition of two night clubs (Condado and Sounders), one in the town centre and one in the port, they can go on for a little longer.
